A Vision for Bay Village

Bay Village deserves leadership that is accessible and responsive to the needs of the residents.

The Architectural Board of Review should review and approve residential as well as commercial building construction and alterations. As homes in our neighborhoods are sold, they are at risk of being torn down and replaced with homes that don't fit the existing character of the neighborhood. The Mayor should not also be the Director of Public Safety unless s/he has specialized qualifications for the role. In a safety emergency, such as a storm or tornado, an expert should be responsible for ensuring the safety of the community, and the Mayor should focus on communicating with residents.

Bay Village must continue to support and increase its tree canopy. Many of the beautiful Bay Village oak trees are reaching the end of their natural lives. We must continue planning for future generations of trees, and work to find common sense incentives for tree protection.
