Cahoon Park Lakefront
As the Project Manager for Bay Village, Kathryn Kerber applied for and was awarded ODNR funding for a study and plan for northern Cahoon Park. The city selected SmithGroup, well known for its lakefront projects in northeast Ohio, as the consultant for the project. Kathryn worked with SmithGroup on the master plan through its completion and beyond: once the initial plan was complete, the work of design and construction funding began.
Presentation to Cuyahoga County
In July 2022, Kathryn had the opportunity to present the Cahoon Park Lakefront project to the Cuyahoga County Community Development Committee as part of a request for $1.2 million in grant funding. At the end of the presentation, six board members asked to be listed as sponsors of the request, more than any other funding request. The county awarded Bay Village the $1.2 million, which has been used to further the lakefront stabilization and accessibility project.​ As Mayor of Bay Village, Kathryn would look forward to continuing this critical project to protect Cahoon Park.
